Go Big...... or Go Home

My Manic Alter Ego ; " The Lettuce Farmer"

World record 18 lbs. Grown in Australia
When it comes to Pineapples I would describe my status as "well-informed " . Over the last 3 years I've planted and harvested many Pineapples and I've read dozens of articles about them . The 14 lbs. pineapple I picked today  is unusually large , but not a world record .  I will however claim the  The Area Code 305 record . On Christmas day with all the stores closed ; "Pineapple,  it's whats for dinner" ..

Busy

I write a Blog called "The Lettuce Farm" but lately I've been so busy at work, I hardly have much time for farming or blogging.  This past week we Catered a party at a 13th floor Penthouse .We  consisted of myself and Jimmy Farfan. Jimmy is of Native American descent ( Cherokee Indian) The party went well and we cleaned up at left around midnight. We became disoriented in the large building upon leaving so I just followed Jimmy, after all he's Cherokee Indian a natural born pathfinder right ???   I followed Jimmy right out the security door that quickly locked behind us , about the time I noticed we were 50 ft. from Biscayne Bay ,  the lawn sprinklers came on and soaked us.   Thank you Jimmy for a great story

First Delivery

I made my first delivery of the season yesterday  to Norman Brothers Produce . Norman Brothers is a  Family owned business that has been buying local and selling local produce for 40 years . My hair was still brown when I started selling to them  20 years ago.  It's nice to the buy local eat local movement gaining momentum in Miami-Dade .
